The term “cloud” refers to a database that stores its data on a server that is accessible from anywhere in the world (with an internet connection).
These databases can be accessed in one of two ways, through a web browser, or through a locally installed application. Each of these two offers its own benefits; the web browser removes the need to install anything, while the application allows for more flexibility. Prima uses the latter method of installing an application, to allow us the freedom to create without limitations.
Prima is the first (and currently the only) back office provider in the office products industry to provide a true cloud solution. Some providers offer an old technology called “remote desktop” and incorrectly present it as cloud. There are many limitations presented by this old technology that are overcome with the emergence of cloud technology.
It is our core belief that Prima should not try to take over the roles of dedicated and well recognised specialist applications. In our opinion, to do so would negatively impact on our customers businesses. So rather than trying to replace packages such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Magento, Evolution, Mail chimp etc, Prima have taken the decision to work alongside these market leading packages, to offer our customers the possibility to work with the “best of breed” in all areas of their business.
Yes! With the largest development team of any independent back office supplier in the industry, at Prima we have a high focus on development, with automatic updates released every 4 weeks on average. Each release contains anywhere from 15 to 50 updates, some you will notice, some you may not notice, but they will be there when you come to need them.
