On Saturday 15th August, our MD Ian Buckley, joined by Sales Director Tim Capper, set off on a 34 mile walk along the mid-Cheshire Sandstone Ridge to help raise money for Sands, a precious charity that works to support anyone affected by the death of a baby; improve the care bereaved parents receive; and create a world where fewer babies die.
The boys worked pretty hard preparing for their challenge; getting up at 4am for practice runs before starting work. Well, we’re pleased to say the boys absolutely smashed the challenge, AND the targets, raising an impressive £2,765 for this amazing charity (553% above target).
Along the way they might have experienced a few blisters, a bit of trench-foot, mild sunburn and shin splints but it was all worth it when they got to rehydrate in Frodsham’s finest after a long 55km! Well done lads!
The highlight of the walk had to be 16 blokes squealing our way through knee deep water at 8.00am but it’s fair to say that we all massively enjoyed the challenge and had a brilliant day. To raise over £2700 for SANDS still birth charity was unbelievable and may even twist a few arms into doing it again next year!
