In this month’s Supplier Spotlight, we speak to well-known manufacturer, Durable to find out a little bit more about their business and their direct, next day distribution service.
I caught up with e-commerce executive, Tom Pickering who was happy to share information about Durable, their products and their service.
Tell us a little bit about your business. What do you offer?
DURABLE Hunke & Jochheim GmbH & Co. KG was established as a family business in Iserlohn, Germany in 1920 and originally manufactured metal index tabs. Since then, the business has become known as pioneers in developing and producing business supplies.
Creative conception combined with a continual focus on innovation, quality, and design has always played a major role in our corporate philosophy – critical factors that determine the success and future viability of any company in today’s competitive marketplace.
With over 700 employees worldwide, we see ourselves as a medium-sized enterprise with German manufacturing tradition and a global orientation.
The DURABLE range today encompasses over 2000 products, with over 1000 of these stocked in the UK, which is divided into a wide range of application areas. From files and folders to name badges, cleaning products to warehouse labeling, retail signage to office furniture, we can help nearly any business ensure they have the highest quality products in their working environment.
What benefits do you bring to the Prima Marketplace and our Community? (E.G product portfolio, ease-of-use, next-day deliveries, company etc.)
We offer over 1000 products which can be sourced directly from us as the manufacture to help speed up your ordering process. Any product that is in stock in our UK warehouse is available on next-day delivery either to yourself or direct to your customer. You will also be some of the first people to learn about new Durable products and have them available on your website from the day they come into the UK
Do you offer electronic trading capabilities with Prima? If so, what would you say are the main benefits of using EDI for our Community? If not, is this something you will look to do in the future?
We are forever looking to change our processes and make it easier for dealers to purchase directly from us.
We are currently working on a new PIM system which will allow us to deliver live stock feeds, product data, etc. and are continuing to look into the possibilities of using EDI in the near future.
